Coffee Talk.
I am a coffee addict enthusiast.
I know my way around a cup of joe and I have had one or two….hundred lattes in
my day. So naturally I know a good café when I see one. This morning I decided
to treat myself to a little wakeup call and went to Gruber's Cafe in Waite
Park. I instantly knew this was my kinda place. A log cabin-like exterior and a
cozy courtyard connecting the cafe to various shops, complete with
tables and chairs to enjoy the now much anticipated coffee.
I ordered a pumpkin
spice latte (an obligatory drink choice given the current season we are in,no?) and
I swear that it was better than my usual Starbucks choice! A cup of perfection
delivered with a smile from the workers made for one heck of a Wednesday
morning. Happy humpday, folks and "Thanks A Latte" for reading the
blog :)

Street Style: Tricia Eagan
There is always that one friend...whose closet you wish you could trade with your own or who you would pay anything to be your personal shopper (meaning, having them shop for you while you stay at home in sweats)...The stylish friend. Tricia Eagan, Senior at the College of Saint Benedict is one such stylish friend. She has an effortlessly chic style and her closet is the envy of all her girlfriends. She has the perfect combination of trendy and classic pieces...and yes, my friends, she is sharing all her style secrets with us for this weeks Street Style.
Name: Tricia Eagan
Year: Senior
Major: Communication
How would you describe your personal style?
-I would describe my personal style as classic. I tend to gravitate towards classic pieces that can go with anything...it allows me to mix and match my pieces easier. I also love a pop of color which usually happens through accessories. In this outfit it's my grandma's turquoise ring. Other times the pop of color can usually be found in a necklace, bracelet, or earrings.
You're a college student, what's your tip for having a great style on a budget?
-My tip for fashion on a budget would be to buy classic pieces! Buy something that will go with anything, usually this can be found by buying a neutral color. Accessories tend to be cheaper, so jazz up the outfits with accessories. Don't spend money on lots of expensive tops! Also, my secret........the Gap. hello great sales! They go through their merchandise really fast so you can always get a great sale item that's appropriate for the current season.
What is your favorite accessory for fall?
-My favorite accessory for fall has to be riding boots! You can find me in a pair of leather riding boots paired with skinnies 3 of the 4 seasons of the year. As it gets colder....add wool socks. It's perfect not only for fall but winter (and spring) as well.
What is your number one piece of style advice?
-My number one piece of style advice would have to be not to be too matchy-matchy. There is nothing worse than someone thinking they have to match all their items perfectly. Play with opposite bolds, especially with accessories. Also experiment with different textures. This will really make your outfit pop.

Street Style: Ashley Rynda
Admit it: class discussions and paper writing aren't exactly the most captivating things about school. Sometimes a good distraction is just what you need to get through those seventy minutes. This distraction comes in two forms for me: a cute boy, or a style inspiration. Personally, the fashion distraction, more often than not, is a better alternative. Seeing a trend worn outside the magazines and in the real world helps me conjure up an effortlessly cool look given the right accessories. Walking around the campus at the College of Saint Benedict, I came across this kind of look. Worry not, I have all the details on how you can achieve it. :)
Name: Ashley Rynda
Year: Senior
Major: Elementary Education
What are you wearing?
I have on a navy maxi dress from Gap paired with a coral necklace from Francesca's, a skinny belt from Forever 21, a purse from ALDO Accessory, and a gold ear cuff from Etsy.

How would you describe your personal style? I would say that my style is classic, with a touch of boho.
What is your favorite fashion trend at the moment? I love cropped skinny jeans with fun flats, maxi dresses, and my new obsession is wearing ear cuffs.
What is your staple wardrobe item? Birkenstocks, they are comfortable yet stylish. when I traveled around Europe I wore them all the time and they went with just about every outfit.
